Pie Funnels Collectors Club UK is becoming increasingly
popular.
Due to demand there is now a small fee to join.
The club, which has only been in existence since 2002, is run entirely by
volunteers.
There are currently
members within the UK as well as members from overseas.
Pie Funnel collecting has become a way of life for most of our members. Most collectors
have a passion for collecting that just cannot be explained.
The club produces a newsletter twice a year containing a wealth of
information regarding the hobby. Members are invited to contribute articles, photographs
of their collections or simply to just chat about their finds. Whether you are a new
collector with just a few cups or a manic collector with many thousands of Pie Funnels
this is a must for you.
Talks on pie birds held next June , will include a 'for sale' table,
chance to see first hand the new designs being made by Donnaware Pottery.
Subs: Per Year - Uk - £20, Abroad £25. 2 Newsletters packed with info and updates on

Thankyou for the info sent in by Bev...
Hi
There! Yesterday I bought a Nutbrown elephant pie funnel from a local market in Nelson,
New Zealand for NZ$40. I bought it because my mother always had one when we were
kids and she had given it away, I had never even seen one again until yesterday.
When I bought it home I decided to see what I could find out about it on the
internet. You may be interested to know that the Reg no. on my elephant is clearly
860928. I am assuming that the number on your elephant is not so easy to read
and thought that this might be of some help. By the way it is very sunny here today!

actually a Grimwade Registered Design from 2nd December 1949. The number is stamped
incorrectly and should be Rd No 860528

It may well be Australian, as there is the name Rosebut on the centre of the
motif, and there is a place called Rosebud in Victoria, but we have been unable to trace
such a pottery there. The porcelain is very hard, and I would say it is English. It
is in lovely condition, and certainly original. any information as toorigin please ??
Joan & John McCulloch jmcculloch@vision.net.au
Yes! It is English.
Patent No 19795 April 1892. It is made in a number of different sizes both with arches at
the bottom or plain as the one shown.

I
recently came across this!!
I have pasted this as it is :
"The Red Riding Hoods Wolf" was first born in 1996
I have the original sketches to prove. I know exactly how many are around and who they
were sold to!!
If you come across any of my designs or may think the said piece mine please feel free to
ask me first to verify the date of production. I do keep records.
I wish
it be known that
"The Red Riding Hoods Wolf" is
my creation and is still in production today,
right it is rare.... because not alot have been made to date, but it
certainly is not 1930s.!!
